Raven goes to attract Lensherr, who convinces her to accept her character as a mutant. After that, McCoy offers Raven his cure for her visual appeal, but she declines. The treatment backfires on McCoy, making him a leonine beast. Although embarrassed of his new visual appeal, he pilots the mutants and MacTaggert to the blockage line. In an ensuing battle with Shaw, Lensherr takes the helmet for himself, approving Xavier to immobilize Shaw.
